Freezing and frosty days skiing at the Cardrona ski field, there are no sounds of any birds or animals. Just the echoes of voices and the sound of music beating like a heart from the competition’s. From a distance skiers look like little black dots zig zagging down the side of the cliff face. The sun shining down, smiles at me trying to warm me up. Standing at the top of the hill there is always a chair lift that slowly grunts its way up. Heavily coated snow smothers every inch of the mountain. Skiing down the hill feeling the smooth snow below my feet makes me feel happy. Quiet and no interruptions the whole way down, until the caffe. The tourist’s fill every single table not leaving any room for anyone. It’s like hell. Driving home at the end of a cold day looking at the view makes me feel special. Lucky to be able to live in such a unique place. Summer time at Cardrona is a dramatic change. Zero sight of snow is to be seen. Cardrona ski field isn’t just a place just for skiing, it is a place for mountain biking. Cardrona is hot and covered in rocks and dirt. Dust flies everywhere from the bike’s. The mountain is very unpopulated in the summer and it makes it awfully quiet. There is the birds singing songs like a choir and the grunts of the chair lift echoing throughout the cliff side. Brown, is all you can think off. Rocks, dirt, dust and gravel is all you see. The mountain looks like the dessert only flipped on a slope. In the caffe there is about 6 people people eating lunch, It’s like a ghost town. Every second the sun beams down. A ball of fire making your skin dry and burnt. Dust is all I smell, dust is all I see and dust is all I feel.
