Maze runner 

At the beginning of the story a guy called “Thomas” had his memory wiped and was put into the maze (glade) by “wicked” only to remember his name. There were other gladers in there who had been there for about 3 years. As soon as thomas arrived things changed rapidly. He surprised them and he broke the rules which made everyone argue. But he saved half a dozen of them and they made it out of the maze to face the real world.

Thomas, a brave and determined teenager who gets put in the glade and within 3 days changes things. A quote from newt. “Think about it. Our memories are whipped. We live inside a place filled with bloodthirsty monster guards. Doesn’t that sound like a prison to you. Thomas’s bravery and determination brings hope to some of the gladers and most of them make it out. Thomas became th e new leader within days and they looked up to him. Thomas carried on to be brave and determined in the real world. He put his life on the line to save many people such as minho and alby. In the second movie Thomas came up with a plan to get them out of were they were. It saved their lives and only 1 person died from an infection. ‘WICKED’ the people that put the teens in the glade were trying to find a cure for the infection. Thomas found out what they were doing (killing people) to find the cure. Thomas realised that they would die, so Thomas put his life on the line and got them out and it saved their lives.

A message that I took away from this film was no matter what the situation have hope, positivity and determination. Keep trying and never give up. The part that inspired me was when one of Thomas friends got shot saving Thomas’s life.” It made Thomas feel like that he had to keep going and make his death mean something. It made Thomas a good kind of angry. Angry to find a cure, save as many people as he could and stop the world from turning on each other. In the maze runner two and three, at many times did Thomas save his friends and people he just met from dying to Wicked.

Thomas had to deal with many challenges at various times in the movie. The main one was ‘WICKED’. To me wicked were cruel people that killed thousands of innocent people thinking that they could find a cure. While Thomas and his friends were escaping from wicked in the city, wicked were looking for them the whole time. Thomas had to not only look after himself and his friends, he had to stay out of sight and hide from wicked. As they were running away from the zombies they also had to stay undercover to hide from the helicopters. Another challenge that would be hard is that they had spent all this time in a glade and then put into to burned world and expect to find water and food. Living of a couple of bottles of water while walking miles and hiding would have been very challenging for all the teenagers including Thomas. In the movie it didn’t show what they ate so therefore it must have been nothing. They lived off only water for about 3-4 nights.

The title of the text is appropriate for this movie because it labels the main thing about the movie. ‘The Maze Runner’ It means it is about a 16 year old boy (Thomas) who runs a maze and tries to find a way out. The ‘maze’ part of it because they are surrounded by a maze and the ‘runner’ part of it talks about a teenage boy who runs it.

The maze runner movie would be recommended to anybody who like full on action movies. Also people who may wonder what the future could be like or what happens when there is a disease that turns people into zombies.
